Janell Burnett, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in Midland, Texas, on September 12, 2024, at 89 years old. Born in Tishomingo, Mississippi, Janell was known for her strength, athleticism, and dedication to her family.

A former college basketball player, Janell was an active and competitive individual who enjoyed various sports activities with her family and in the community. Additionally, she was recognized for her kindness, generosity, and commitment to volunteering at the Disciples Food Pantry.

Survived by her children – David Burnett, Johnny Burnett, and Lesa Cain – as well as three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Janell's memory will be cherished by those whose lives she touched. A memorial service is scheduled on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland.
