Esperanza Valverde Ibarra Remembered for Faith and Compassion

Esperanza (Valverde) Ibarra, aged 83, peacefully journeyed home to heaven on June 24, 2024. Born on December 12, 1940, in Eden, TX, Esperanza's life was a testament to her unwavering faith in God and her deep commitment to her family. Her faith guided her through life's challenges, and her kindness, generosity, and compassion touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting legacy of love and faith.

Esperanza married her cherished husband, Juan, in 1958. Together, they shared a deep love and countless treasured memories. After living in Wingate, TX for many years, they settled in Midland.

An active member of her church, Esperanza found joy in singing gospel hymns and cherishing moments with her family, sharing stories and love with all. Her role as a homemaker reflected her dedication to her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Manuel Valverde, David Valverde, Paul Valverde, and Miguel Valverde, sister Martina Rodriguez, son (Johnny) Rene Ibarra, grandson Matthew Ibarra, and great-granddaughter Lillian Gutierrez.

Esperanza is survived by her sons: Daniel Ibarra and wife Virgina of Midland, Gabriel Ibarra of Odessa, Sammy Ibarra and wife Victoria of Midland; daughter Sylvia Villafranco and husband Marcos of Midland; sisters Paulina Gonzales, Diamantina Areano of Abilene, Ester Cortez of Midland, and Dora Ochoa of Granbury; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Viewing services will be held at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm. A Prayer Service will be conducted at the same location on the same day at 5:00 pm.

Funeral services are scheduled to take place at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 9:30 am, with interment following at Resthaven Cemetery (North).

Pallbearers include Mark A. Villafranco, Michael Villafranco, Sammy Ibarra, Joshua Ibarra, Chris Ibarra, and Adrian Ibarra, while Joe Adam Ramirez and Michael Ramirez will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to Midland Memorial Hospital and Midland Medical Lodge for their care and support during this time of loss.
