Vera Sue Covington, 91, of Midland, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Born on January 24, 1933, in Roby, TX, she was the daughter of the late Oran and Vera Simmons. Vera married Ruben Wesley Covington on October 27, 1950, after graduating from Lamesa High School in 1950. She worked at State National Bank in Big Spring, retiring after years of dedicated service, and was an active member of Primitive Baptist Church.

Vera is preceded in death by her husband Ruben Wesley Covington, her parents, and several siblings. She is survived by her children Michael Wesley Covington and Steve Simmons Covington, brother William Hurst Simmons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog Rocco.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Ellis Funeral Home, with graveside services to follow on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Resthaven Memorial Park. Vera Sue Covington will be remembered for her loving dedication to her family and her impactful contributions to the community.
