Sandra "Ginger" Ellwood | Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park

Sandra "Ginger" Ellwood passed away on August 1, 2024, in Ottumwa, Iowa, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness. Born to Donald and Melva Webber Garber on November 27, 1940, Ginger married William Robert Ellwood (Bob) in 1969, sharing 45 wonderful years together. Their life was filled with adventures and cherished moments raising their children Mark and Andrea, along with grandson Cooper.

Known for her dedication as a loving wife, mother, and Oma, Ginger's home was a place of comfort, delicious food, and boundless love. Her generosity extended beyond her family to friends and neighbors, embodying her faith and community spirit. From running a catering business to volunteering at church and serving as a Stephens Minister, Ginger's kindness and care touched many lives.

Gardening, nature, and spending time with loved ones brought Ginger immense joy. Her legacy of love, resilience, and goodwill will be held close by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Memorial services to honor Ginger's life will be held at First Methodist Church. The family requests donations to Meals on Wheels in her memory, a cause dear to Ginger's heart.

As we mourn her passing, may Ginger's memory continue to inspire and bring solace to those who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, Ginger.
