David "Dea" Edward Adams Jr. | Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park

Midland – David Edward Adams, Jr., known as "Dea," passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Born on July 31, 1973, in Midland to Barbara and David Adams, Dea received special care and therapy in his early years at the Opportunity Center. He later participated in the MISD Special Education program, graduating from Midland High School in 1995.

Dea, who specialized in the Special Olympics basketball dribbling competition and the 50-yard race, went on to work supervised by MARC, now Spectrum of Solutions. Despite a traumatic brain injury later in life, Dea enjoyed watching movies and spending time in a Spectrum of Solutions group home.

He is survived by his parents, sister, and nieces. A visitation will be held at Ellis Funeral Home on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 5-7 PM, with funeral services on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 2 PM at First Baptist Church, followed by interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Donations in Dea’s memory can be made to Spectrum of Solutions, Hospice of Midland, the Special Olympics, or a charity of choice.
