Sherman Allen Cox | Nalley-Pickle & welch Funeral Home & Crematory

Sherman Allen Cox, 96, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024. A visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory. A Graveside Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater, Texas.

Sherman, born on February 10, 1928, in DeKalb, Texas, was known for his various roles in life including service in the U.S. Navy, police officer, pro wrestler, restaurateur, and City Councilman. He had a great love for his family and interests in video poker, sports, movies, and peanut M&M's.

Sherman is survived by his children, Gary D. Cox, Cindy Purdy, and Shelly Cox, as well as other family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Cox, parents Augustus and Mary Cox, three sisters, and a granddaughter.

The family extends their appreciation to Hospice of Midland and Visiting Angels, specifically acknowledging caregivers Randi Williams and Francisca Martinez.

Honorary Pallbearers include family members and friends. Flowers may be sent to McCoy’s Funeral Home in Sweetwater, TX.
