MIDLAND, TX - Betty Ambrose Strawn, a longtime educator, passed away on October 10, 2024, in Midland, Texas. Born on December 5, 1937, in Brady, Texas to Cyrus and Blanche Horn, she attended Frenship schools in Wolfforth and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1960. Betty taught Home Economics at Midland Lee High School until her retirement.

Survived by Mark Strawn (Susan), Britton Strawn (Kaci), Collin Strawn (Candace), Shea Cobb (Steven), Shelley Strawn (Vic), Christi Nielsen, and Lance Raglin, along with her sister-in-law, niece, and nephew, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Ambrose, in 1985, and husband Jim Strawn in 2008.

Known for her quilting skills, culinary talents, and love for Texas Tech sports, Betty enjoyed cooking, especially hosting Thanksgiving dinners. She traveled the world with Jim, cherished cruises, and adored her dog, Buddy.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 29, at 1:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Memorial donations can be made to Dog Rescue R Us or a charity of choice.
