Congressman August Pfluger of Texas is actively working to safeguard sensitive documents and records from the Biden-Harris Administration during the Presidential Transition. His efforts align with guidelines set by the National Archives and Record Administration (NARA).
Pfluger emphasized the importance of maintaining and preserving records in line with NARA guidelines during this transition period. "During the Presidential Transition, agencies and departments must maintain records and preserve documents and communications in accordance with NARA guidelines. Any individual in the federal ranks who destroys records to conceal information from the newly elected administration should face consequences," said Rep. Pfluger.
He also stressed that expectations for a peaceful transfer of power should apply across the entire administration, not just the Office of the President.
In addition, Pfluger has introduced legislation aimed at training federal employees and imposing penalties on those who might attempt to resist or undermine the authority of a duly elected president. He stated, "I also recently introduced legislation to train the workforce and levy penalties on any federal bureaucrat who attempts to resist or subvert the will of the duly elected President of the United States."
Pfluger expressed his view that federal employees should act as non-partisan civil servants under a second Trump presidency, reflecting on past resistance during Trump's previous term. "The American people spoke loud and clear. We must ensure federal employees who brazenly resisted the Trump Administration previously accept the results of the election and conduct themselves as non-partisan civil servants under a second Trump presidency," he concluded.
