Congressman August Pfluger of Texas has expressed his concerns regarding the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) final rule to impose a natural gas tax on American energy producers. In a statement, Rep. Pfluger criticized the Biden administration's policy, highlighting its potential impact on both his district and the broader American public.
"President Biden’s promise to end fossil fuels hurt the hardworking energy producers of my district, who have worked diligently to increase production while reducing emissions," said Rep. Pfluger. He further stated that "the Biden-Harris EPA’s ‘natural gas tax’ will drive up costs for all Americans, jeopardize our energy security, and increase emissions."
Rep. Pfluger has been an opponent of the natural gas tax since it was first proposed and remains hopeful for its repeal under a future Trump administration.
