Congressman August Pfluger has been elected as the Chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) for the 119th Congress. Previously, he served as the Chairman of the RSC House Energy Action Team.

The Republican Study Committee is recognized as the largest caucus of House Conservatives on Capitol Hill, focusing on enacting conservative policies aimed at protecting and providing for Americans.

Rep. Pfluger expressed his gratitude for being elected, stating, "I am incredibly honored to have the support of my colleagues as the next Chairman of the Republican Study Committee." He acknowledged past leaders who have influenced him, including Speaker Mike Johnson, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Jim Jordan, Senator-Elect Jim Banks, and current Chairman Kevin Hern. He also thanked Chairman Hern for his leadership over the past two years and his efforts against the Biden-Harris agenda.

As Chairman, Rep. Pfluger aims to advocate for policies that protect freedoms, ensure national security, and promote economic prosperity. He emphasized that "the RSC will continue to be the conservative backbone of the House," focusing on advancing conservative principles while addressing issues like spending control, energy dominance, and border security.
