Weldon Morris Brogden Dies at 93 in Midland, TX

Weldon Morris Brogden, known as "Papaw" and "Red," passed away in Midland, TX on November 10, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on August 4, 1931, to Lloyd and Thelma Brogden, he was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and brother.

After serving in the Air Force, Weldon pursued a successful career in the oil field. With a passion for antique cars, he was a revered member of the West Texas Region Antique Automobile Club of America. Weldon and his wife relished attending car shows and antique automobile tours, often taking family trips in vintage cars, including a memorable journey from Pampa, Texas, to the World's Fair in Spokane, Washington in a 1929 Model A Ford.

Survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn, daughters Lawanna Quist (Patrick) and Billie Sue Schaefer (Jeff), granddaughters Evan Bauer (Eric), Ragen Wisnoskie (Daniel), Jordan Harrison (Taylor), and nine great-grandchildren, Weldon will be dearly missed.

In accordance with his wishes, the family will host a private gathering to commemorate his life. Those who wish to express condolences can offer flower arrangements or contribute to tree planting in honor of Weldon Morris Brogden through the Sympathy Store.
