Midland, TX - James Allen Holman Jr., D.D.S., passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2024, due to injuries sustained in a car accident on November 12. Born on February 12, 1947, in Odessa, Texas, to Evelyn and James Allen Holman Sr., James was a dedicated dentist known for his gentle care and attention to detail.

James grew up in Midland, where he attended Robert E. Lee High School before pursuing his dental career. He met his beloved wife, Kae Ericson, while attending Odessa College, and they shared a deep connection, raising their son, Randy James, together.

After graduating from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston in 1974, James began his dental practice in Blytheville, Arkansas, before returning to Midland in 1976 to establish a successful and compassionate dentistry practice. He was committed to providing gentle dental care and building lasting relationships with his patients, many of whom became friends over the years.

In addition to his dentistry work, James found pleasures in art, nature, music, and spending quality time with his family. He was an active member of the Permian Basin District Dental Society and served as President for a term. James was also dedicated to his community and his faith, serving as a deacon at Alamo Heights Baptist Church and playing bass guitar in the Worship Team.

James' legacy lives on through his wife, Kae, his granddaughter, Katie, and a host of aunts, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Randy, his uncle Charles Griggs, and other relatives.
