Betty Sue Dillow, Remembered for Love of Family and Fun-Loving Spirit

Betty Sue Dillow, the only child of John and Corene Clenney, was born in Lockesburg, Arkansas on December 12, 1935. At the age of thirteen, she moved to Midland, graduating from Midland High School in 1953. In 1951, she met Robert K Dillow, known as Bob, whom she married on June 6, 1953, in Evansville, Indiana. Together, they raised four children: Helen Whitehead (Jimmy), Jim Dillow (Beverly), Susan Morris (Charles), and Cindy Delay (Dale).

On December 6, 2024, Betty passed away after a short battle with cancer. She was an active member of Hope Community Church in Midland, finding joy in cruising, casinos, horse races, quilting, cooking, fishing, and playing Mexican Train and Bunco with loved ones. Her grandchildren admired her strength, kindness, and lively spirit, which left a lasting impact on their lives. Betty's wealth of knowledge, special recipes, and life skills were highly treasured by her grandchildren.

Betty accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Melrose Baptist Church in Melrose, Arkansas, at the age of six, and was baptized in the Little Cossatot River. After moving to Brownwood with the U.S. Postal Service in 1979, she worked as Food Service Director at Brownwood ISD, later becoming the Assistant Food Service Director at Midland ISD upon returning to Midland.

Betty was survived by her 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bob. Pallbearers at her service were chosen from the family: Charles Roberts, John Morris, Bobby Whitehead, Dustin Delay, Nathan Dillow, and Rodrick Rhoads.

Visitation for family and friends was held on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral services took place on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, followed by a graveside committal at Resthaven Memorial Park.
