Midland - Janie Sotelo, 67, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. She was born May 20, 1957, in Midland to Frances (Avila) and George Bill. Janie met John "Ruben" Sotelo at work, and they were married in 1988 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She retired from the City of Midland's water department and was an active member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church.

Janie is survived by her husband of 36 years, John R. Sotelo; sons Adolfo Garcia and John Michael Sotelo and wife Shelby; daughters Jessica Medina and husband Angel, and Sarah Sotelo and husband Cesar Rodriguez; brothers George Bill Jr. and wife Sylvia, Robert Bill and wife Luz, Paul Bill, and Raymond Bill; sister Mary Bill; fourteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and her German Shepard, Louie. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frances Morales and George Bill Sr.; brother Joe Bill; and sister Rosa Gallegos.
