Congressman August Pfluger of Texas has cast affirmative votes for two significant legislative measures aimed at preserving lives. The bills in question are The Fix Our Forest Act and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.
The Fix Our Forest Act focuses on improving forest management to prevent wildfires, a concern highlighted by recent events in California. Congressman Pfluger stated, "Far too many Americans have tragically been victims of the devastation that wildfires can cause, most recently seen in California. To prevent this from happening again, Congress must prioritize effective forest management." He expressed pride in supporting the bipartisan effort to restore forest health and protect communities at risk.
In addition to forest management legislation, Pfluger also supported the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. This bill mandates medical care for infants who survive abortion procedures. On this matter, Pfluger commented, "Providing life-saving care to a patient in critical need is commonsense, yet in the case of a failed abortion, many Democrats have argued otherwise." He emphasized his commitment to advocating for the protection of life until the legislation becomes law.
Both pieces of legislation passed through the House of Representatives with Congressman Pfluger's backing.
