Congressman August Pfluger, representing Texas's 11th district and a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, recently appeared on "The Signal Sitdown" to discuss his energy policies. As a representative of one of the most productive oil and gas regions in the United States, Pfluger expressed concerns about the current administration's approach to energy.

Pfluger criticized President Biden's energy policies, stating they have been detrimental to districts like his. "The last four years have been a complete disaster... They [the Biden Administration] came after the Permian Basin. They came after the Bakken. They came after the Utica, the Marcellus, and every other producing area," he remarked during the interview. He further mentioned that these policies have disproportionately affected American families in lower socioeconomic brackets due to increased energy prices.

In contrast, Pfluger praised former President Trump's commitment to American energy independence. He noted Trump's prompt focus on energy issues upon taking office: "But when President Trump took the oath of office, when he gave his inaugural address, he wasn’t three or four minutes into it before he started talking about a national [energy] emergency." Pfluger also recalled Trump's encouragement for increased domestic drilling with his remark, "drill baby drill."

Pfluger has taken steps in Congress to support his vision for American energy. These include introducing legislation aimed at eliminating what he considers harmful natural gas taxes imposed by President Biden and supporting executive orders from Trump focused on energy.

Additionally, Pfluger has participated actively in congressional hearings related to environmental safety and wireless technology leadership as part of his role on various subcommittees within the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
