Congressman August Pfluger of Texas expressed his approval following the Senate's confirmation of Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense. In a statement, Pfluger highlighted Hegseth's leadership qualities and his potential to enhance the military's effectiveness.
“I’m proud to see the Senate swiftly confirm Pete Hegseth as our next Secretary of Defense. He is a tremendous leader who will return merit and lethality to our military as well as help President Trump usher in a new era of peace through strength," said Pfluger. He further emphasized his confidence in Hegseth's ability to "transform President Trump's vision into reality, safeguarding America's national security interests with courage, intellect, and unwavering commitment."
Pfluger also mentioned ongoing global challenges, stating that "as our adversaries continue to advance their destabilization efforts globally," he anticipates collaborating with Hegseth to strengthen military capabilities and national security.
Earlier this month, Congressman Pfluger authored an op-ed in the Washington Examiner advocating for Hegseth's appointment.
