Dorothy Mae Blackwell, a beacon of joy, love, and kindness, passed away on February 2, 2025, to reunite with her husband Orvin ‘Blackie’ Blackwell and son Gary Wayne Blackwell. Dorothy was born on May 20, 1937, in Alvin, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of faith, resilience, and an adventurous spirit.

As a successful entrepreneur, devout Christian, and loving matriarch, Dorothy touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. Her passion for travel allowed her to connect with others, especially her grandchildren whom she often took on road trips across the country.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Terry McCall and Elaine Minor, and her grandchildren: Larry Don Burton, Christopher William McCall, Billy Wayne Monroe, and Billie Joe McCall, along with five great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the viewing at Ellis Funeral Home on February 10, 2025, from 5 to 7 PM.
