Today, Congressman August Pfluger of Texas hosted U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright at the Republican Study Committee's weekly meeting on Capitol Hill. The meeting focused on strategies for advancing American energy production and independence.
Congressman Pfluger emphasized the importance of energy independence for national security and economic prosperity. He expressed commitment to promoting the Trump Administration's energy policies in Congress. "Under Joe Biden, America went from energy dominance to energy dependence overnight. Those days are over," said Chairman Pfluger. He added that they aim to "unleash American energy production" and have already passed legislation like the Protecting American Energy Production Act to protect fracking from federal interference.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright highlighted the role of American energy in supporting a strong economy, reducing prices, and enhancing national security. "During President Trump’s first term, our nation achieved energy dominance—and we’re ready to do it again," he stated. Wright thanked RSC Chairman August Pfluger and House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Brett Guthrie for their leadership roles.
The discussions underscored a collective intent among House Republicans to prioritize domestic energy initiatives while opposing current administration regulations perceived as restrictive.
