Throughout his life, Joe remained committed both to his family and to his work in the oil and gas industry, displaying loyalty and dedication. Even after over forty years with El Paso Natural Gas, he continued his career in pipeline construction and water disposal until 2018. Joe found great joy in spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, engaging in various activities and always showing his love and support.
Known for his humor, quick wit, and strong moral compass, Joe brought laughter and hope to his family in times of joy and sorrow. He led by example, setting high standards of integrity, excellence, and love in every aspect of life.
Joe Wayne Brookins is survived by his wife, Deborah; children Heather Brown, Debbie Jo Simon, Justin Brookins, grandchildren, siblings Andy Bowen, Sandy Holland, extended family, and beloved friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, and granddaughter.
In memory of Joe, donations can be made to the Midkiff Public Library, the Greenwood ISD Education Benevolence Fund, or the Stanton ISD Education Foundation.
