Roe Sams | Nalley-Pickle & welch Funeral Home & Crematory
Born on October 9, 1956, in Midland, Texas to Perkins and Bradley Sams, Roe's educational journey took him from Trinity School of Midland to Midland College and culminated with a BA in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Texas. Following several locations across Texas, Arkansas, and New Mexico, Roe returned to Midland to work as an independent contract Landman.
Roe had a deep passion for hunting and fishing, with a particular love for hunting deer and elk in the Rockies and fly fishing for trout in places like Taylor River and Tincup, Colorado. He cherished his annual dove, duck, and deer hunting expeditions in Texas. A skilled cook, he took pleasure in planning and preparing meals with the game and fish he harvested.
Roe is preceded in death by his parents Perkins and Bradley Sams, sister Elizabeth Sams, and nephew John Perkins Foretich. He is survived by his wife Terri Sams, children Jason Roe Williamson, Lauren Sams Hand, Brooke Sams, grandchildren, siblings Lourcey and Lisa Sams, Sarah Sams, and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Trinity School of Midland or the Heart Institute at Midland Memorial Hospital.
