Midland, Feb. 17, 2025 - Senaida Avila, a beloved resident of Midland, Texas, has peacefully passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 87. Born to Luiz and Merse Ramirez on June 6, 1937, Senaida was known for her faithfulness, love, happiness, and humor, embodying roles as a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt. Her joyous spirit was evident in her love for crossword puzzles, devotion to her favorite football team, the Cowboys, daily enjoyment of Norteno music, and her enthusiasm for playing Mexican Bingo.

Senaida is predeceased by her parents, Luiz and Merse Ramirez, her husband Jose Avila, and her son Elier Avila. She is survived by her children: Betty and husband Arturo Montenegro of Del City, Oklahoma, Janie and husband Jesse Stow of Norman, Oklahoma, Jimmy Avila and wife Gracie of Midland, Texas, JoAnn Fields of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Joe Avila Jr and wife Tracy of New Braunfels, Texas; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Joe Avila Jr, Adam Daniel Avila, James Avila, Andrew Jimenez, Christian Torres, Jonathon Hernandez, Jonathan Avila, and Chris Avila.

The family extends their gratitude to Hospice of Midland, Heart to Heart Hospice, St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home, and the Midland Police Escorts for their exceptional care and support.
