Midland, Texas - Mary Helen Freeman, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the age of 79. A celebration of her life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland.

Born on November 29, 1945, in Bynum, Texas, to Alfred Colvin and Willie Mae Thomas, Mary began her career at Sears Roebuck in Midland, where she met her beloved husband, Billy Gene Freeman. She later worked at the Midland County Appraisal District for 20 years before her retirement.

In her retirement, Mary found joy in line dancing, water aerobics at the YMCA, and attending True-Lite Christian Fellowship with her daughter, Tangi. Described as the epitome of love, kindness, and generosity, Mary never missed a chance to share the love of Christ with those around her.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and Aunt Rosie B. Cunningham Jackson. She is survived by her siblings, Alfred Colvin Jr, Tommy Colvin, Joy Colvin, Roy Colvin Sr., and Dan Colvin; her daughter Tangi Dickens; niece Angela Washington; granddaughters Chelsea Phelps, Jaylaan Knighten, Ashlin Thomas; seven great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends who held her dear.
