Community Mourns the Loss of Francisco Munoz Estrada

Midland, Texas - Francisco Munoz Estrada, known affectionately as "El Tuna," passed away at his home on Saturday March 1, 2025. He was born on March 9, 1934 to Roman and Anastacia Estrada in Midland and was raised in the Spanish Quarter, also known as "El Barrio." Francisco served in the United States Army during the Korean War and later pursued his passion for music by playing the saxophone, guitar, and singing in local Mexican bands. He was known for his strong faith in God and his dedication to helping others in his community.

Francisco is survived by numerous children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his kindness and generosity. Preceded in death by several family members, his funeral arrangements include a viewing at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel on Thursday March 6th, with a Rosary following in the evening. The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday March 7th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Shrine, followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will include close family members and friends. The community expresses gratitude to those who have provided support during this difficult time.
