Christel Walker Butler, aged 93, of Midland, Texas, passed away on March 14, 2025. She was born on February 19, 1932, in Naples, Texas, to Cecil Huey and Christine Gambles Huey. Christel was married to Edward Deboskie and later sadly mourned his untimely death after eight years of marriage.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Brown, Latrese Kendrick, Mary Robinson, Alma Nealy, and Dorethea Deboskie. Christel is also survived by her sister, Erma Reeves, eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Avalos-Sanchez and Thomas Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Alexander Temple Church of God In Christ, with interment immediately following at Resthaven North Cemetery.

The family expresses gratitude to Meals On Wheels and Star Hospice for their exceptional care. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Avalos-Sanchez and Thomas Funeral Home and Chapel.
