Gilberto Urias Alvarado of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age of 79 in Midland, Texas.

Gilberto A. Urias, born on February 21, 1946, to Andres Urias Ramos and Romelia Alvarado, was a respected lawyer in Mexico who dedicated his life to helping others, combining his legal expertise with compassion.

He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Maria Cruz Urias-Urias, and together raised five loving children. With his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he shared stories of the past, bringing the family closer together through his love and tales. Gilberto had a keen interest in collecting historical items from various parts of the world.

Gilberto was known for his kindness, wisdom, and profound love for his family, always delivering humor and joy to those around him. His passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his wife, children Romelia Almanza, Ivetthe Vasquez, and Andres Urias, his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and two of his children, Gilberto Urias and Ivanhoe Urias, and grandson Samuel Vasquez-Urias.

A viewing will be held at Heavenly Gate Funeral Home in Midland on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM and on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with the Rosary on Sunday at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Midland, followed by burial at Serenity Memorial Garden Cemetery.

The pallbearers include Albert Vasquez, Alex Vasquez, Norman Pallanes, Andres Urias, Gilbert Urias, Santino Martinez, and others.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Midland Memorial Hospital staff, family, and friends for their support during this difficult time.
