Kermit ISD had the highest enrollment among Winkler County districts, with 1,339 students during the 2024-25 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.
Of all students enrolled in the 2024-25 school year, 53.2% were boys, and 46.8% were girls.
Data also showed that most of the students were Hispanic, representing 84.8% of the Kermit ISD total enrollment.
Among the two districts in Winkler County, Wink-Loving ISD ranked second in enrollment numbers with 438 students in the 2024-25 school year.
Kermit ISD roughly covers schools within Winkler County with its main office in Kermit.
In the previous school year, Kermit ISD also had the largest number of students among Winkler County districts.
Texas has the nation’s second-largest K-12 public school system, serving about 5.5 million students with a student-to-teacher ratio of roughly 15:1.
