Eric Joseph Winston, Born on November 17, 1983
Born on November 17, 1983, Eric Joseph Winston, a former American football offensive tackle, commenced his journey. A Midland native, he excelled in high school football at Robert E. Lee High School, contributing to three consecutive Texas 5A state championships. Winston, known for his tenacity, pursued college at the University of Miami, majoring in International Finance and Marketing. Despite an ACL injury during his junior year, Winston’s skill earned him selection in the 2006 NFL Draft, where he joined the Houston Texans. Throughout his NFL career with teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, and Cincinnati Bengals, Winston showcased resilience. Beyond the field, he served as the president of the NFL Players Association from 2014 to 2020, advocating for player welfare and financial literacy. Winston’s roots in Midland marked the beginning of a remarkable journey in football and leadership.
