Died: November 30, 2018 – George H. W. Bush

George Herbert Walker Bush, the 41st president of the United States, passed away on November 30, 2018, leaving a legacy of public service and political leadership. Born into the affluent Bush family in Milton, Massachusetts, on June 12, 1924, Bush served as a Navy pilot during World War II before establishing a successful oil company in West Texas. His political career saw him in various federal positions, including ambassador to the United Nations and director of Central Intelligence. As president from 1989 to 1993, he played a pivotal role in the reunification of Germany, led the Gulf War, and signed significant bipartisan legislation. Post-presidency, Bush engaged in humanitarian activities and witnessed the political rise of his son, George W. Bush. His connection to Midland, Texas, roots from his successful oil ventures in the region. Historians generally consider him an above-average president, recognizing his contributions in foreign policy and bipartisan achievements.
