How many African American students were enrolled in Rankin ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were six African American students enrolled in Rankin ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 500% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Rankin ISD schools welcomed 318 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 1.9% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Rankin ISD roughly covers schools within Upton County and has a main office in Rankin.

Rankin School was the only school in the district which enrolled African American students, welcoming six students in the 2022-23 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
