Shirley Marie Sturgeon Brown, born on December 4, 1941, in Deberry, Texas, peacefully passed away on November 6, 2024. She was known for her deep faith and unwavering commitment to serving her community. Shirley's journey of faith began at a young age at Greater Ideal Baptist Church in Midland, Texas, and continued at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active member under Pastor Curtis Joiner.

Shirley's legacy of kindness extended beyond her church community to her work at Lee Street Beauty Shop, where she dedicated over 30 years to serving others as a beautician. Her chair was not only a place for beauty treatments but also a sanctuary for heartfelt conversations and spiritual guidance.

She shared her life with her beloved husband, Ellis Odell Brown Jr., and had a daughter, Sheila Brown, and stepdaughter, Glenda Valentine. Shirley's commitment to service, resilience, and love will be remembered by her daughter, granddaughter, siblings, and extended family.
