MIDLAND — Muckleroy "Budge" McDonnold Jr., a prominent lawyer known for his quick wit, loyalty to family and friends, and love of travel, passed away peacefully on his 92nd birthday, February 19, 2025.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Budge is survived by his wife Shirley and their three children, Megan, Craig, and Kyle, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1956 and began his legal career as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney of Bexar County.

After working for Sinclair Oil and Gas Company, Budge became an independent landman and established himself in the oil and gas industry. He was known for his sense of humor and generosity, always ready with a joke or tease to brighten the day.

Budge was an avid traveler, history enthusiast, and dedicated member of various organizations, including the Exchange Club and Permian Basin Landman Association. He valued his family above all else, creating lifelong memories on skiing trips, scuba diving adventures, and family vacations around the world.

A private graveside service will be held, with a celebration of Budge's life scheduled at Midland Country Club on March 1 from 5 - 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
