MIDLAND, Texas — Hazel D. Sessions, 88, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at her home. Born on October 7, 1936, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Hazel shared 71 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Charlie Sessions, whom she married in April of 1953.

Hazel had a lifelong passion for cooking, which she pursued as a beautician in Jal, New Mexico, and later while running the cafeteria at Midland Freshman in Midland. Her culinary skills and love for nourishing others touched many hearts in the community. A woman of deep faith, Hazel actively participated in Wilshire Baptist Church, sharing her voice in the choir and spreading joy through her infectious laughter and warm demeanor.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie Sessions; daughter and son-in-law Fay and Keith Palmer; son and daughter-in-law James and Carol Sessions; grandchildren Sarina Rogers, Kala Parker, Kenan Palmer, Carissa Ortega, and Jared Sessions; as well as 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Hazel leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and warmth.

A viewing will be held at Wilshire Baptist Church on Monday, March 3, 2025, followed by a funeral service on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, with interment at American Heritage Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
