Midland - Mary Sue Robertson, 78, of Midland, Texas, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

Born on January 30, 1946, in Gilmer, Texas, Mary Sue was the daughter of John Robert (Dee) and Lizzy Lourine (Lou) Long. One year after her birth, her family settled in Midland, where she grew up on a dairy farm and graduated from Midland High School in 1964. In 1969, she married Donald Ray (Don) Robertson.

Mary Sue's professional career primarily focused on being an oil and gas secretary, but her true passion lay in music. She was an active member of Valley View Baptist Church, where she served as the Music Director and a member of the choir for many years. Singing traditional hymns brought her immense joy, and she cherished the opportunity to lead the congregation in praising the Lord through music.

Apart from music, Mary Sue enjoyed various artistic hobbies, excelling in sewing, embroidery, crocheting, painting, and drawing. She had a knack for raising African violets and an assortment of succulents, showcasing her green thumb. However, it was her love of hymns and singing that truly sparked her spirit and brought her unparalleled happiness.

Mary Sue was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don Robertson, and son Johny Robertson. She is survived by her daughter Donna Robertson and fiancé Frank Hernandez, grandchildren Savannah Robertson, Andrew Robertson, Samuel Reyes, and Zela Reyes, her brother Johnnie Long and wife Janie, sister Nancy Jones and husband Raymond, numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors who cherished her presence.

A viewing for Mary Sue will be held on January 29, 2025, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, with funeral services on January 30, 2025, at the funeral home chapel, followed by burial at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Arrangements are handled by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be expressed on their website.
