Midland, Texas - Charles Gary Garlitz, aged 89, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, following a brief illness. He was born on January 11, 1936, in Ft Worth, Texas, to Charles Frances Garlitz and Lula Inez Ewen. A memorial service to honor his life will take place on Monday, February 10th at 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church in Midland.

Gary graduated from Ozona High School in 1954, and continued his education at Midwestern State and TCU where he also played football. On February 8, 1958, he married Jane Addison Adams, and in 1963 they settled in Midland, Texas, where Gary established the Chesapeake Bay Gas Gathering Company.

He is survived by his children Christa Garlitz Bolger and her husband Barr, Charles Clay Garlitz, and Jane Ann Caroline Garlitz Fogerson and her husband Zeph. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, niece, nephew, and other extended family members.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Adams Garlitz, son William Wade Garlitz, and brother William Gail Garlitz. He will be fondly remembered for his kind, loving, and humorous personality, always finding pride and joy in his family, especially his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Episcopal Church. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Emma Rodriquez and Hospice of Midland for their dedicated care and kindness during Gary's illness.
