Midland, Texas, March 31, 2025 - Wendell Louis Miller, 71, of Midland, Texas, peacefully passed away on March 31, 2025, at his home after a courageous battle with illness. Born on February 15, 1954, in Snyder, Texas, to Joseph Winford “Wimp” Miller and Peggy Joan Scott, Wendell was known for his love of sports, cars, hunting, and storytelling.

Growing up in a family deeply rooted in the oil & gas industry, Wendell excelled in sports, particularly football, during his youth. After graduating from Seminole High School in 1972, he pursued further education in Aviation Maintenance Technology at Midland College. Wendell's passion for sports cars, off-roading, and outdoor activities showcased his adventurous spirit and diverse interests.

Throughout his career in the oil & gas industry, Wendell worked diligently, leaving a lasting impact as a Wire Line Operator and heavy equipment mechanic. He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Darlene Miller, daughter Kinsey Allen, grandson Colton Scott Allen, granddaughter Heidi Kate Allen, and cherished Aunt Gynell McMillen.

In honoring Wendell's wishes, there will be no funeral service. The family welcomes all to celebrate Wendell's memory in a personal way. Memorial donations in his honor can be made to Big Bend Conservancy Memorials and Honorariums, benefiting Big Bend National Park.

Wendell's legacy of bravery, passion, and knowledge will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

Memorial donations may also be made by visiting the Tribute Store to plant a tree in memory of Wendell Louis Miller.
