MIDLAND, Texas — Vera Lucille Fisher, a devoted wife, mother, and community servant, passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 101. Born on February 22, 1924, to Otha Maxwell and Hattie Maxwell Finley, Vera leaves behind a profound legacy of love, service, and dedication.

Vera was a cherished wife to Robert (Bob) Fisher and a loving mother to her four children: Glynwood Fisher, Carolyn Wallace, Bobbie Stoniecki, and Michael Fisher. She took immense pride in her family, which continued through her nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

An active member of the National PTA, Vera served as a PTA president at Ralph Bunche Elementary and Carver High School, supporting education and students. She was also deeply involved in church activities at the Lee Street Church of Christ for over 70 years, where she taught Bible classes and contributed to the Women's Ministry.

Vera's commitment to community extended to her role as a Girl Scout Leader, volunteer with Midland MARC supporting Special Olympics, and her unwavering faith that guided her through life’s challenges. Her love of sports, especially football, basketball, and tennis, and her infectious enthusiasm for her favorite teams endeared her to many.

In honor of her memory and dedication to education, Vera's family requests that donations be made to the Kenneth Wallace Leadership Scholarship fund. The scholarship aims to support students and future leaders, a cause close to Vera's heart.

Vera Lucille Fisher's impact on her family, friends, and community will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on through the lives she touched and the legacy of love and service she leaves behind.
