Midland, Texas – Thomas J. Friday, known as Tom, passed away on December 17, 2024, at the age of 95. A visitation will take place at 2 p.m. on December 22, 2024, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory. A service is scheduled for Noon on December 23, 2024, at the First Christian Church in Midland, Texas. Interment will follow at a later date.

Born on July 15, 1929, in Roscoe, Texas, Tom served in Korea with the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked at Marathon Oil Company and owned Red Wing Shoe Stores in Midland and San Angelo. Tom was also a generous supporter of charities and a dedicated member of the First Christian Church.

Tom is survived by his son, David Friday, daughter-in-law Susan Friday, granddaughters Sarah Katherine Friday, and Lauren Victoria Friday. He is preceded in death by his parents, Olan Friday and Etta Pope Friday, sisters Argretta Wilde and Sylvia Bell, and brother Minard Dale Friday.

Memorial donations may be made to Shriner Children’s Hospital, the Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, First Christian Church of Midland, or Trinity School of Midland. Condolences can be shared online at www.npwelch.com.
