Shirley Laverne Womack Bruner | Nalley-Pickle & welch Funeral Home & Crematory

Shirley Laverne Womack Bruner, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on January 5, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on February 6, 1935, in Big Spring, Texas, Shirley was known for her devotion to family and the joy she found in spending time with her loved ones.

Shirley and her husband Joe settled in Midland, Texas, where they raised three boys. Hosting Christmas celebrations for her family was a highlight of Shirley's life, and she took great pleasure in creating memories with her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Bruner and oldest son David Bruner.

Survived by her sons Bobby Bruner and Kyle Bruner, her beloved sister Donna Sawyer, niece Darla Poole, grandchildren Erica Nickols, Ashley Warren, Jake Bruner, Kellsey Bruner, Austin Bruner, and seven great-grandchildren, Shirley's loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A private graveside service will be held at Resthaven Cemetery on January 11, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations to the American Cancer Society or a tribute gift to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Shirley.
