Midland, TX - Joe Marquez, 61, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 6th, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at the Branch at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory. The funeral mass is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, March 7th, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, followed by burial at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Pecos, TX, Joe spent his youth in Midland where he raised his family. He served in the United States Army for nine years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, he had a successful 27-year career at Pioneer Natural Resources (now Exxon) as a Senior Cloud Engineer. Joe's childlike heart, humor, and advice endeared him to many. He was known for his unique gestures and boundless energy. A man of many talents, he enjoyed golf, fishing, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys.

Joe is survived by his wife Dora, children Joshua, Jakab, Josiah, Danika, granddaughter Ava Grace, and siblings Martha, Irma, Sylvia, Robert, Ester, and Kim. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, niece, and godmother.

The family expresses appreciation for the support received. Floral tributes can be sent to the funeral home on March 5th.
